Founded in 2005, Wemyss is independently run by siblings William and Isabella Wemyss, who are kin of the Scottish Wemyss family. The family are embedded in Scotland's whisky and spirit industry, with roots dating back to 1840 when the first whisky distillery was established in the Kingdom of Fife. With access to the vast whisky warehouses of Scotland, Wemyss blend single malt into magic. Single malt whiskies come from a specific distillery, evoking the singular style and flavour of the individual distillery and its region. Wemyss take their carefully selected single malts and blend them into bold and distinctive expressions. Their offerings encompass the spectrum of Scottish malt whisky, providing a range that has something for everyone. Whether you like your whisky sweet, spicy or smoky, Wemyss have blended whiskies to suit all palates. If you’re looking to up the ante, they also have limited editions of batch-strength blends. Most blends are usually diluted to 40% abv. Batch strength is the authentic vision of the master blender.
